Get Ready for Year Three!
May 20, 2017

ForeShore Adventure Run is rolling, rumbling, tumbling, and running into year three. The lakeshore’s premiere 5k adventure run returns to Pere Marquette Beach on May 20, 2017, with new obstacles but the same mission: helping people to overcome life’s challenges.

Your ticket purchase directly feeds the hungry and shelters the homeless, said Kevin Newton, executive director of the Muskegon Rescue Mission. He said 100% of the proceeds support the Muskegon Rescue Mission’s food pantry and homeless shelters.

“The hundreds of people who participate in the ForeShore Adventure Run have a great time overcoming the challenging obstacles we build into this beautiful course on the Pere Marquette Beach,” Newton said. “They also appreciate the fact that every dollar this event generates will be used to help families in need right here in our community.”

New obstacles include Floatilla, where runners work their way over a 25-foot sand dune and take on a pond with dozens of inner tubes. Other obstacles include the Drum Line, where runners will crawl over large blue barrels and splash into a manmade pond; and Tunnel Vision, where runners crawl through tunnels and meet a really cool surprise on the other side.

The Country Dairy Kid’s Zone returns, with miniature versions of the main course obstacles. It’s a safe, enclosed course where kids can have fun, just like mom and dad. Everyone who participates, even the kids, get medals.

Presenting Sponsor Huntington Bank, the City of Muskegon, Mercy Health, Pepsi, Rock Star Energy Drinks, Country Dairy Kids Zone, and RCP Marketing, are helping organizers make the event possible. See the complete list of sponsors.

Testimonials

“It was really cool. I like the slogan you had — “Overcome Life’s Obstacles” — I kept seeing that on people’s shirts in front of me and I was like, ‘Just a few more obstacles to go!”

Vicente - ForeShore Adventure Run Testimonial

“It was a really good course; the sand was really hard to run on. The ending ones were really good. They were intense.”

Marian - ForeShore Adventure Run Testimonial

“I thought it was tough – the sand was soft — and the obstacles took more energy than I had expected. But it was a lot of fun.”

Scott - ForeShore Adventure Run Testimonial

“It was amazing. Grueling. Plenty of obstacles. Unlike other obstacle races where you run but there aren’t a lot of obstacles. It kept me busy.”
